The Fastnet yacht race is probably the most famous offshore yacht race in the world. It’s been organised by the Royal Ocean racing club since eight 1925. Up to 300 yachts battle out against the elements and each other. The course is from cowes to Cherbourg via the Fastnet rock of the southern tip of Ireland.
The Comanche is a 100ft yacht and is regarded as one of the fastest, if not the fastest boats in the world. It currently holds the 24 hours sailing record for monohulls.
